Shepshed Ford Celebrates Three Decades of Business
Shepshed Ford is Celebrating 30 Years in Business - In 1981 Paul Watson aged just 22 embarked on a career in the Motor Trade and established his own Company ‘Watson & Cook Motors’ and specialised in the servicing and body repair of automobiles after serving an Apprentership with Loughborough based Volvo dealership Yates.
The Company went from strength to strength thanks mainly to good business management and personal recommendations and in 1994 became a Ford Retail Delearship. The Company renamed ‘Shepshed Ford’ became fully authorised to sell and service new fords and carry out warranty repairs. Being under the Ford umbrella brings with it additional obligations and quality standards. From their new Charnwood Road showroom the Company has to adhere to Fords service criteria and employees are all Ford Trained Technicians including 2 Master Technicians who are qualified to carry out extended servicing and repairs to Fords and all other makes of vehicles as well as MOT while you wait.
Although selling cars produced by one of the largest Companies in the world, Shepshed Ford is still very much a family run buiness serving the local community and surrounding areas for the past 30 years.
The employees offer a friendly and personal service, it has 10 staff in total who are a key to thr success, two of the staff have a total of over 50 years service to the Company – an indication that Shepshed Ford is a caring employer.
Managing Director Paul Watson sums up Shepshed Fords success by saying ‘We pride ourselves on constant high levels of service and customer retention, which has helped to keep the business growing and successful through all trading conditions, our staff who have worked for us for many years have also helped to drive the business forward.”
